Our secure Telebanking Service is quick, easy to use and free*. It enables you to manage all aspects of your account as follows:
- Transfer money to designated Euro accounts within SEPA (Single European Payments Area)
- Change your account type (same currency only)
- Open additional accounts, provided the account holder details are the same
- Request cheque withdrawals to designated payees
- Change your Telebanking password
- Check your balance and transaction history
- Amend your interest instructions, where applicable
- Use our Foreign Exchange facility to transfer funds between accounts in different currencies (if applicable)
The services available are subject to the Terms and Conditions of the account you have with us.
If you haven’t already authorised Telebanking then you can download a Telebanking Authorisation form or ring us and we’ll post one to you.
You can call us on 1800 800 310 between 9am and 5pm Monday - Friday, excluding Republic of Ireland Bank Holidays. When calling you should be ready to provide a random selection of characters from your Telebanking password.
How secure is Telebanking?
Before the Telebanking Service can be used on your account we ask you to pre-designate in writing the payees or accounts to which you might wish to make payments. We believe that combining this with the protection of a password ensures that access to your account through the Telebanking Service is doubly secure.
How can I set up Telebanking on my account(s) and designate accounts and payees?
Print and complete a Telebanking Authorisation form.
Provide your Nationwide UK (Ireland) account number and the name of the first account holder so that we can identify you.
Detail the accounts you want the Telebanking service to be applied to.
Provide a Telebanking password, consisting of 6-10 characters containing letters, numbers or both. All joint account holders share the same Telebanking password. Outside of this you must keep your password confidential.
For your security, designate any accounts or payees to which you may want to make payments. Remember you can always designate more in the future. Just complete the Telebanking Designated Accounts Form.
Please make sure you carefully read our Internet Banking and Telebanking Terms and Conditions. Ensure that all account holders sign the declaration. When signing this you are agreeing to be bound by these terms and conditions. If your account's signing mandate is set as 'all signatures together' you will need to tick the box authorising us to change this to 'any one signature'.
Once complete, return the form to us at Telebanking Team, Nationwide UK (Ireland), PO Box 11552, Freepost 4638, 3 Spencer Dock, North Wall Quay, Dublin 1. We will write to you confirming that Telebanking has been set up.
Please note: if your instruction is received outside of office hours (Monday - Friday, excluding Republic of Ireland Bank Holidays), we will act on it on the first working day following receipt.
If you cannot quote your password as requested we will be unable to act on your instruction.
Need to designate additional accounts or payees?
If you need to designate additional accounts or cheque payees you can download a Telebanking Designated Accounts Form and return it to us.
You can designate as many accounts or payees as you wish.
